TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Looking for a way to make a difference in the community? The city of Twin Falls has an idea: try for a seat on the City Council.

You have just one more week to submit a letter of interest to fill the City Council seat left vacant by current Councilman Don Hall, who is running unopposed as a Twin Falls County commissioner.

Deadline to submit letters is 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4. Letters should be submitted to Deputy City Clerk Leila Sanchez at lsanchez@tfid.orfg or by mail to P.O. Box 1907, Twin Falls, ID 83303. Applicants must be a qualified voter in the city of Twin Falls to be eligible for consideration.

In your submission letter be sure to state your qualifications and interest for serving on the council. Mayor Shawn Barigar, with consent of council members, will appoint the new member to serve the balance of the term for Seat 6, which expires in January 2018. He or she may choose to run for office in the general election in 2017. The mayor and council hope to make a decision in December.
