NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Police in the southwestern Idaho city of Nampa are investigating what they call the suspicious deaths of a married couple found in their home.

Nampa police Sgt. Joe Ramirez says police found the bodies Tuesday after they were asked to check on the couple — a 68-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man. KBOI-TV reports that police say a co-worker called for a welfare check after one resident failed to show up for work or call in.

Police said the circumstances of the deaths are under investigation. The names of the couple were not immediately released pending notification of relatives. Ramirez says there's no danger to the public.
