TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- A deer may be responsible for causing a crash south of Malta that sent a trucker to the hospital and closed part of the interstate for hours. According to Idaho State Police Wesley Kirkham, 44, of West Valley Utah was headed west in a tractor trailer when he attempted to avoid a deer near Sweetzer Summit. Kirkham lost control of the truck causing it to tip. Kirkham was flown to a Pocatello hospital with unknown injuries. The west bound lane was blocked for two and a half hours, while the slow lane was blocked for nine hours.
