Crowds outside Parliament grew as the vote, which passed 155-138, took place. Some hurled stones at police, waved Greek flags and set small fires in protest of the austerity measures, which will include new taxes and job cuts.

Police officers fired tear gas into the crowd to keep protesters at bay, CNN reported.

AT least 19 police officers were injured and dozens others were sent to area hospitals.
