Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - UPDATE 12:51 a.m. Tuesday 2-24-15 - Salt Lake City CBS affiliate KUTV reports that the burning object was more than likely a disintegrating Chinese rocket that launched a satellite back in December. Report was by NASA Ambassador Patrick Wiggins. A bright streaking object caught the attention of many in Southern Idaho around 11 p.m. Monday night. Many described the object as a bright slow moving object with a long tail, similar to that of a comet. Idaho's First News received reports from people in Twin Falls, Burley and Jackpot via email and our KMVT Facebook page. Other reports coming in from social media sites like Twitter have people witnessing it from other states like Montana, Wyoming and Utah. Idaho's First News Chief Meteorologist Brian Neudorff, speculates that the bright object was either a slow moving meteor burning up in the earth's atmosphere or space junk.
