Director of Idaho’s Department of Labor Retiring
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The man who has led Idaho’s Department of Labor for the last 18 years is stepping down. Labor Department Director Roger Madsen says he intends to retire from the job this fall.
The Idaho Statesman reported that the 65-year-old director will make retirement official Nov. 15. Madsen was first appointed to the position in January 1995 by former Republican Gov. Phil Batt. Madsen says he’s had a phenomenal experience working for the agency and the people of Idaho.
In retirement, Madsen says he intends to embark on Mormon Church humanitarian mission to Morocco with his wife starting in December. The agency posted the vacancy on its website Friday.
