41 years ago the newly built Teton Dam in Eastern Idaho collapsed while filling for the first time.

It was the largest man-made disaster in Idaho's history according to the Spokesman-Review in an article from last year on the 40th anniversary of the accident. Idaho Public Television recorded a 30 minute special on the events leading up to, through, and after the flooding.
