Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - What started out as a drag race turned into a police pursuit and an arrest, along Highway 25 in Jerome County Tuesday night. Jerome County Chief Deputy Jack Johnson said the incident started with multiple cars around 9:20 pm on Highway 25 at 875 East.

Deputy Johnson said there were multiple cars involved at first but they went in several directions when authorities began the chase. In the end, two cars were stopped and one Twin Falls resident was arrested near Tiger Drive and Highway 25 in front of the Jerome High School.

Anthony Beltran, 23 was charged with eluding officers. There was no property damage reported and there was no indication that drugs or alcohol was involved. Law enforcement from Jerome city and county were involved in the chase.
