CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A panel of drought experts is meeting to drill down on recommendations for handling the ongoing dry spell. The Nevada Drought Forum is scheduled to meet Monday and discuss a report they're supposed to turn in to Gov. Brian Sandoval by Dec. 15.

Sandoval has made the drought a key priority of his administration and may include some of the recommendations in his State of the State address in January. The forum was created in April and has been gathering information about the severity of the drought and potential remedies for water shortages.

The group was originally planning to assemble the report by Nov. 1, but sought an extension due to the complexity of the task.
