TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- The Twin Falls Sheriffs office says the man recovered from Dierkes Lakes Sunday has died. Chen Peir-Horng, 42, died late Sunday night at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Hospital after being rescued from the swimming area of Dierkes Lake.

Emergency crews responded to a drowning at Dierkes Lake shortly after 4:30pm Sunday. According to the first officer on the the scene, Shoshone Falls Park Ranger Kim Lewis, lifeguards on duty immediately began searching for the victim near the docks. Two members of the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Dive Team happened to be in the area training and quickly responded.  They located Mr. Peir-Horng within two minutes of diving.  CPR was administered at 5:05pm.

The Twin Falls County Marine Unit responded as well as Twin Falls Police.  The victim was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance. According to the park ranger they were able to get a heart beat and pulse from the victim at 5:50pm.
