OAKLEY, Idaho (KLIX)- The Cassia County Sheriff’s office says a man drowned Sunday at the Oakley Reservoir.  Undersheriff George Warrell says Larry Tominaga, 63, of Paul died after his boat overturned at the reservoir just south of Oakley.  The 911 call came in just before 2pm by other fishermen in the area. Warrell says the fishermen tried to swim out and save Toninaga but the water was too cold at 49 degrees.

Tominaga was wearing a life vest but Warrell says weather conditions could have made it difficult to swim. Winds were around 25 miles an hour creating waves. The Cassia County Marine Patrol responded to the reservoir and retrieved Tominaga around 2:42pm and administered CPR.  Tominaga was taken to the hospital in Burley where he was pronounced dead.
