The Idaho State Police along with Jerome and Minidoka County deputies worked into the late evening Wednesday clearing wreckage from Interstate 84.  There were a total of 18 vehicles involved in crashes over a seven mile stretch of the interstate near Paul.  A storm front with high winds moved through that area shortly after 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon churning up dust from freshly tilled fields in the area making visibility very difficult. One crash involved three semi-trucks that had slowed down to avoid other wrecks.  Two people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and no one was seriously hurt or killed.  The eastbound lanes of I-84 were blocked for several hours as traffic was diverted over frontage roads so crews could clean up the wreckage on the interstate.  Police are still investigating the crashes.
