Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) A 4.8 shock was reported at Yellowstone National Park Sunday morning, the largest earthquake at Yellowstone since February 22, 1980.

The University of Utah Seismograph Stations report the quake happened around 6:30, with the epicenter 4 miles NNE of Norris Geyser Basin in Yellowstone.

That’s 86 miles NE of Rexburg or 111 miles NE of Ammon. This is just one of least 25 earthquakes in the area reported in the last few days.

Meanwhile, the USGS reported a 3.1 quake occurred NW of Challis Sunday morning.

What does this mean for the Super Volcano resting beneath Yellowstone?
