AMMON, Idaho (AP) — Eastern Idaho authorities say a bail bondsman trying to serve a warrant shot to death the 58-year-old man being sought.

The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office says Philip M. Clay apparently had a gun and was shot by one of four bondsmen who located him at an apartment complex parking lot in Ammon.

Authorities say Clay was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center where he died from gunshot wounds.

Clay had a felony warrant out of Ada County in southwestern Idaho for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

The warrant was issued in September with a bond of $100,000.
