POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Police in the eastern Idaho town of Pocatello say they won't respond to any more calls about unruly kids who won't clean their rooms.

Police Chief Scott Marchand said in a prepared statement that the department is trying to better utilize time and resources, and that means officers will no longer respond to calls from parents looking for someone else to discipline their child. Officers will also no longer respond to civil incidents like disputes between landlords and tenants. They will still respond to calls about crimes or disturbances, however.

Pocatello isn't the first Idaho city to tell parents that police aren't at work to deal with unruly children. The Nampa Police Department announced last month that officers will only respond to actual crimes, not complaints about kids who refuse to brush their teeth. Lt. Jason Kimball said at the time that his department gets several such calls a week.
