Katelyn Durham’s life was touched by music teacher Angie Fillmore, who passed away last September.  Mrs. Fillmore had taught for more than 40 years in the Twin Falls School District. “She even donated her time and talent to the after school ‘Strings Alive’ beginning orchestra program when the budget for it was cut,” said Durham. “She touched many lives with her love for music and her dedication to Magic Valley Youth. I was one of those students.”

Katelyn’s senior project is to raise $10,000 toward an endowment fund to ensure that Mrs. Fillmore’s legacy lives on for future generations of music students at CSI. She’s more than halfway to that goal and hopes that the Mini Golf for Music Education event she is organizing will put the drive over the top.

A fun, music-themed nine-hole course will be laid out in the CSI Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20. Individuals and families are welcome to come enjoy the course the day before CSI’s spring semester begins. Fees will be only $5 per person, $3 for students, or $20 for families of up to five players. Door prizes will be available and players can also sign up for a hole-in-one challenge. Donations to the scholarship fund will be gladly accepted, as well.

Businesses or individuals who wish to help sponsor the event are encouraged to contact Katelyn at 208-731-6074 or at katelyn_durham@hotmail.com.
