BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 57-year-old man who was shot and wounded by a deputy in Ada County after authorities say he pointed a gun at him has been arraigned on felony charges.

The former CEO of Intermountain Gas, Kenneth Frank Morehouse, was charged Tuesday with aggravated assault on law enforcement personnel and use of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Deputies had responded to a home Monday to reports that a man was threatening to harm himself. The Ada County Sheriff's Office says Morehouse had aimed a gun at Deputy Cory Feldman, who then shot Morehouse in the shoulder.

Prosecutors say Morehouse had been trying to attempt "suicide by cop." Morehouse's attorney requested bond be set at $10,000, saying his client wasn't violent. But the judge ordered Morehouse held on $500,000 bond.
