BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A former prisoner who was released last year after being convicted in a violent roadside attack denies violating her probation.

Sarah Pearce, of Homedale, was accused of violating her probation, possessing drugs and introducing contraband into a jail late last year. KTVB-TV reports she denied violating her probation on Friday, and Judge James Morfitt set an evidentiary hearing for March 2.

The 33-year-old Pearce previously spent 11 years in prison for the June 2000 attack of Linda Lebrane. The victim told police a group beat her with a baseball bat and stabbed her on the side of Interstate 84.

Pearce was released on probation in 2014 after a judge acknowledged problems with witness accounts and a police lineup. Pearce is being held without bond in the Canyon County Jail. If Pearce is found to have violated her probation, she could be sent back to prison.
