KETCHUM, Idaho (IME)-The Blaine County Sheriff's Office said on Monday that heart failure caused the death of a skier that fell from the Christmas chairlift last week.

The Idaho Mountain Express reports  Fifty-six year old Dana Mower, Sun Valley and Seattle resident, died on Wednesday after falling from the Christmas chairlift on Bald Mountain.

Though initial reports showed an uncertain cause of death, Blaine County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Ed Fuller said that a recent autopsy revealed that Mower died of heart failure, which likely caused him to fall from the chairlift.

Mower reportedly fell about 100 yards above the bottom of the Christmas chairlift, near Rock Garden ski run. Blaine County Coroner Russ Mikel said at the time that Mower had suffered no apparent injuries. Fuller said the death was not caused by trauma from the fall.
