TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- A position on the Idaho Fish and Game Commission is soon to open up in the Magic Valley.

Governor Butch Otter’s office announced the Magic Valley and Salmon Region commissioner positions will be vacant at the end of June. The  terms for Mark Doerr of the Magic Valley and Will Naillon of Salmon, are up. To be considered for the appointment you must live in the area that is open. The positions are appointed by the governor and run for four years.

The Idaho Senate will have to confirm the appointment. There are seven commissioners that represent various parts of the state. The responsibilities will include guiding the director of the Department of Fish and Game as well as establish rules and other needed controls on fishing, hunting, trapping and wildlife management in line with the State’s wildlife policy; approve department budgets for submission to the Legislature; conduct public hearings and make decisions on managing Idaho’s wildlife.
