The National Weather Service in Boise has expanded the Flash Flood Watch to include portions of South Central Idaho and Southwest Idaho.

The Flash Flood Watch includes the following areas:

  • South Central Idaho
  • Western Magic Valley
  • Southwest Idaho
  • Upper Treasure Valley

The Flash Flood Watch is in effect from Monday afternoon (Aug. 4) through Tuesday evening (Aug. 5). Slow-moving thunderstorms with heavy rain are possible across the area.

Flooding may wash out roads, especially in areas of steep terrain. Low-lying areas will be susceptible to flooding.

Precautionary Actions

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
