TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) A flood watch has been issued by the National Weather Service in Boise for parts of the Magic Valley as unsettled spring weather moves in today.

Rain showers and high winds are forecast for most of southern Idaho and northern Nevada for today, see Wind Advisory here. The flood watch is for the Big Wood River in Gooding County from today into Friday afternoon. NWS says snowmelt combined with rain has water flowing over the spillway at the Magic Reservoir with outflow at 5000 cubic feet per second.

Floodwaters are expected to impact the Big Wood River in Gooding County. Water is expected to be one foot below the Highway 46 Bridge north of Gooding. Those that live in flood prone areas should take precautions and monitor the weather conditions.
