BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KTVB) -- One man is dead and another has been arrested following a crash on Interstate 15 near Blackfoot. Idaho State Police say the crash occurred at 5 a.m. Saturday near milepost 93. 32-year-old Gonzalo Lopez-Vasquez of Florida was traveling southbound in a 2001 Ford Explorer when he went off the right shoulder, over-corrected and then rolled into the median.

The vehicle came to rest on its roof. ISP says the passenger, 36-year-old Meso Reymieri of Guatemala, was thrown from the vehicle. He died from his injuries at the scene. Lopez-Vasquez was arrested after troopers say they found him about a half-mile from the crash site.

He was taken to the hospital and has been charged with leaving the scene and vehicular manslaughter. His condition is unknown. ISP says Reymieri was not wearing a seat belt. They continue to investigate.
