PRESTON, Idaho (AP) — Investigators in eastern Idaho are working with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to find cyber-bullies linked to the death of a 17-year-old girl.

The Idaho State Journal reports that the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and federal officials are looking into the suicide of a Dayton girl last month that is believed to have been prompted by online bullies. Sheriff's officials on Wednesday said there were no new developments in the case and that reviewing digital evidence takes time.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is funded by the U.S. Department of Justice and is aimed at helping law enforcement agencies investigate cases in which the Internet was used to victimize children. Investigators say the bullies used a fake Facebook account to harass the girl and encourage her to kill herself.
