The notion of a proper 'Friday Night Lights' reunion seems all but dead, as even executive producer Peter Berg appears to have given up hope, but series creator Jason Katims has given clear eyes and full hearts reason to hope. Sharing a common universe with NBC's 'Parenthood,' watch Jesse Plemons' Landry and Crucifictorius cross over in the new 'Parenthood' short "Friday Night at the Luncheonette"!

The first of a four-episode webseries to tide 'Parenthood' fans over while NBC runs the 2014 Winter Olympics (similar shorts are also available for 'Chicago Fire,' 'Parks and Recreation' and more), "Friday Night at the Luncheonette" explores what Amber ('Arrested Development' star Mae Whitman) does after hours in her job at the recording studio, while taking care of her young cousin Max.

Due to something of a schedule mix up, in walks Lance Landry Clarke ('Breaking Bad' star Jesse Plemons) with his 'Friday Night Lights' band Crucifictorious for band practice! It's short, though the three other installments will also bring in 'Friday Night Lights' character Billy Riggins (Derek Phillips), likely the closest we'll get to a true Panthers reunion in the near future.

Oh, and don't forget, 'Parenthood' has also been established to take place in the same universe as Katims' forthcoming NBC comedy 'About A Boy,' allowing for even more crossover potential in the future.

Check out the first of 'Parenthood''s 'Friday Night at the Luncheonette" (get it?) shorts above, and tell us in the comments what you'd want to see from future crossovers? Might we finally get that true 'Friday Night Lights' reunion after all?
