'Game of Thrones' has no doubt become one of HBO's biggest successes to date, but does series creator George R.R. Martin have another drama up his sleeve? According to Deadline, the prolific creator has signed a two-year overall deal with the pay-cable network to develop additional projects. Despite his increased responsibilities, Martin will keep on as executive producer, and occasional writer for 'Game of Thrones.'

While Martin remains best known for penning the 'Song of Ice and Fire' series 'Game of Thrones' derives from, the author has previously written other fantasy and horror novels, even some science fiction. Prior to writing his most popular novels (whose latest installment could now take even longer to write, oy), Martin also served as executive story consultant for 'The Twilight Zone' revival and producer for the original 'Beauty and the Beast' TV series.
