Gooding School District Release Documents After Paper Sues

GOODING, Idaho (AP) — The Gooding School District has released copies of separation agreements involving two employees following a lawsuit filed by The Times-News. The newspaper reports the school district released on Thursday the agreements involving Superintendent Heather Williams and Gooding High School Principal Chris Comstock. The newspaper filed a lawsuit Feb. 10 after the district denied two public records requests. The district said that after the lawsuit both employees gave consent to release the documents. Comstock resigned Jan. 14 and Williams resigned two days later, but agreed to stay on until July 1. The agreement with Williams says the district will provide a positive recommendation for her to potential employers. The agreement with Comstock notes he had been on paid medical leave this school year while receiving his regular salary and benefits.
