Gov. Otter Seeks Help To Lower Business Taxes
Governor “Butch” Otter was in Twin Falls yesterday speaking to a group at the Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce. Otter was asking area business owners for help in getting some tax relief for business from the Idaho Legislature.
Otter has been working for a $35.7 million dollar tax cut for businesses but time is running out as the Legislature is expected to adjourn next week. Otter wants to cut the highest corporate tax rate from 7.8 to 7.4 percent and also cut the top income rate by four tenths of a percent. Otter told the group that it is not the state’s job to regulate people out of business but rather into business.
