JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Grizzly bears wandering out in the open in Grand Teton National Park are drawing crowds of wildlife watchers, photographers and others seeking a glimpse — from a safe distance.

National Park Service Bear Management Specialist Kate Wilmot says a number of grizzly bears have been visible in the northern reaches of the park in northwest Wyoming. Wilmot tells the Jackson Hole News & Guide that the bears have been active since about April 17.

One grizzly known by the research number 610 and her two 1-year-old cubs have attracted a number of onlookers. Jackson wildlife photographer Tom Mangelsen says he's seen about a half dozen adult grizzlies.
