Next up, a groundbreaking for the Main Avenue Renaissance Project is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11 in front of Columbia Bank on Main Avenue East and Shoshone Street East.

According to the city, the event will kick off construction work that will replace streets, sidewalks, landscaping and critical infrastructure along a five-block area of Main Avenue.

“This groundbreaking will celebrate one of the largest public investments in the heart of our community, and we hope everyone will have an opportunity to participate,” said Dan Brizee, chairman of the Twin Falls Urban Renewal Agency.

“The reconstruction of Main Avenue, in conjunction with the new City Hall, Downtown Commons plaza, and utility improvements, will enhance the vibrancy and opportunities in Downtown Twin Falls.”

Those who plan to visit should park in slots on Second Avenue North and Second Avenue West, according to information from the city.

The groundbreaking will follow the annual State of the City Address at 11:30 a.m. in the Orpheum Theater. Tickets for the State of the City event may be purchased by contacting the Twin Falls Area Chamber of Commerce at info@twinfallschamber.com or 733-3974.
