MERDIAN, Idaho (AP) — A man shot in the leg knocked on the door of a state senator's Meridian home looking for help. State Sen. Russ Fulcher says his youngest child, a high school senior, called him Monday on the Senate floor and said a man who had been shot was at the door. Fulcher says his children called police and the man was in an ambulance by the time he arrived.

The 36-year-old man told Ada County deputies that he was in a car with three other people when he got out and the men inside opened fire. The man was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Deputies say the men knew each other. Sheriff's officials are seeking people with information about the shooting.
