HAILEY, Idaho (AP) — A central Idaho man who shot and killed a wolf Friday says it’s the same animal that killed a colt and attacked his dogs. The Twin Falls Times-News reports Kevin Swigert found the colt dead Feb. 13 on his ranch west of Hailey. He says the predator returned and tangled with two of his border collies, both of which survived. An Idaho Department of Fish and Game spokesman said the rancher had the correct hunting tag and didn’t break any laws when he shot the wolf. Fish and Game couldn’t verify that the animal Swigert shot was the same wolf that killed his colt. But the rancher wrote in an account posted on the website for anti-wolf group Idaho for Wildlife that he was certain it was the same animal.
