HAZELTON, Idaho (KLIX)- A Hazelton man was flown to the hospital early Monday morning after trying to avoid a semi-truck. According to Idaho State Police Ike A. Ellis, 31, of Hazelton, ID, was driving east on 1010 S. in a 1996 Ford F250 pickup when he tried to avoid hitting a semi-truck that turned left in front of him at around 8am. ISP says Dwayne D. Riese, 67, of Holstein, NE, was driving west in a 2006 Freightliner, pulling a 2005 Kenworth trailer. Ellis attempted to avoid the semi but hit it, sending his pickup into the barrow pit. He was not wearing a seat belt and was flown to the hospital in Twin Falls.
