Heyburn Murder Suspect Arrested in Texas
Edinburg, Texas ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) – The Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office announced today that Edinburg Texas Police have arrested Christopher Cruz, 21, who is wanted in connection with a murder that happened on August 2, 2013.
Cruz is charged with the death of Craig Glen Short, 36 of Heyburn who was found in the Heyburn home of Cruz. The Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office along with the Idaho State Police, Heyburn Police and the Cassia County sheriff’s office responded to the home at 423 South 850 West after reports of a shooting.
Several Days later, the Minidoka County sheriff and prosecuting attorney filed the charge of murder in the first degree and attempted murder in the first degree with a weapon enhancement against Cruz. Cruz is being held in the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s office on a $1-million dollar bond. According to the Minidoka county sheriff, Cruz is in the process of being extradited back to Idaho.
