TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – High school students interested in aviation can learn about it, along with other space-related careers, at the annual Aviation Career Exploration Academy held this year June 13-15.

You still have time enroll. The deadline to do so is May 27.

The program, sponsored by the Idaho Transportation Department’s Division of Aeronautics, allows students to go on field trips to a flight school, a military aviation facility and an air traffic control tower, according to an ITD news release. Other activities include seminars on aviation careers and colleges, participating in an aircraft flight and a hands-on satellite balloon project.

The event will be held in Boise, but students between the ages of 14 and 18 outside the area may also sign up. A limited number of families will host students from outside the area, according to the news release.
