Idaho ATM Repairman Charged with Robbing ATM

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A man who worked as a technician for an automatic teller machine security company is charged with stealing more than $10,000 from an ATM at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.

The Times-News reports  36-year-old Dustin Daniel Gardner of Twin Falls was charged Friday with grand theft. He has not entered a plea. Police began investigating in March after National Cash Register Global Security reported a large shortage of cash from an ATM in the Taylor Building at CSI.

Charging documents say an audit by NCR determined the shortage was $10,440 over the course of just over a year, including a $2,800 theft in December 2012. Court records say at the time of each theft, Gardner had requested a code to access the machine.
