COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (KTVB)—Craigslist posts offering grant funding for sexual favors led police to arrest a North Idaho College administrator on Wednesday.

Joseph M. Bekken, 36, faces multiple felonies. On Wednesday, officials at North Idaho College told KREM 2 News Bekken was no longer an employee. He used to serve as the Director of Financial Aid. An investigation into Bekken began Feb 2. North Idaho College School Resource Officer Gus Wessel was alerted by the FBI about a post on Craigslist in the casual encounters section..

The post propositioned students for sexual favors in exchange for grant money. Three weeks later, police determined Bekken was behind the Craigslist posting. Bekken faces charges for attempted misuse of public funds, attempted procurement of prostitution, burglary, using a computer in a scheme to defraud, and bribery. Coeur d'Alene Police worked with the FBI, North Idaho College, and the Kootenai County Prosecutors Office on the investigation.
