Now that the supercommittee has failed to reach a deal, Idaho lawmaker's are weighing in, calling the panel's failure a serious problem.  None of Idaho's congressmen were on that 12-member supercommittee.  s

Sen. Jim Risch is voicing his frustration saying this doesn’t come as a shock to many people.  Risch said there's been half a dozen efforts to try and do something and rein in the  federal spending that's going on.   The panel had been meeting for over two months. Now that the deal failed, cuts will automatically be made evenly from domestic and defense programs.  Last week, Sen. Mike Crapo and Rep. Mike Simpson both urged the committee to "go big" and cut federal spending by four trillion dollars over 10 years.
