IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Law enforcement officials say a sheriff's deputy involved in the shooting of an Idaho Falls man is back on patrol. The Post Register reports that Bonneville County sheriff's deputy Nick Contreras was cleared to begin working on Tuesday.

Contreras was one of the five sheriff's deputies and police officers who responded to the scene where 31-year-old Ricky L. Mosley was shot on June 29. Sheriff's deputies were dispatched after a report that a man had hit a pregnant woman. Deputies stopped Mosley, who they thought was the suspect, in his vehicle.

According to a news release, he was uncooperative and his actions led officers to fire their weapons. The officers were then placed on paid administrative leave. Contreras fired his taser, not his firearm. The case has remained sealed, meaning details of how many times Mosley was shot and by who are still unknown.
