Idaho Entrepreneurs Honored

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Two Idaho technology entrepreneurs are being honored for serving as inspiration for others seeking to make a difference, not only in their respective industries but also in the world. Greg Carr, founder of a telecommunications company, and Tim Barber, an inventor and businessman, were named to the Idaho Technology Council's Hall of Fame. The Idaho Statesman reported Tuesday that Carr and Barber will be inducted Oct. 23, joining past honorees including Hewlett-Packard's Ray Smelek. Carr made his fortune with Boston Technology, which sold voice mail technology to telephone companies. He went on to a career in philanthropy, including work in a national park in Mozambique. Barber, known by many as owner of a distinctive, castle-like house in Boise, founded Keynetics, a company that processes 26,000 digital transactions a day.
