BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter has endorsed 12 Republican legislative candidates running the upcoming May 17 primary election, three of whom are challenging sitting incumbents.

Otter is throwing his support behind GOP challengers Megan Blanksma, who is running against Rep. Pete Nielsen of Mountain Home; Doug Ricks, who is running against Rep. Ron Nate of Rexburg; and Michael Dolton, who is running against Rep. Judy Boyle of Midvale.

Otter is also supporting Reps. Luke Malek of Coeur d'Alene, Merrill Beyeler of Leadore, Patrick McDonald of Boise, Rich Wills of Glenns Ferry, Neil Anderson of Blackfoot and Kelley Packer of McCammon; as well as Sens. Shawn Keough of Sandpoint, Abby Lee ofFruitland, and Patti Anne Lodge of Huston.
