The Violence Policy Center released a statement today outlining 21 states whose gun deaths exceeded motor vehicle deaths in 2014.

According to the report, Idaho had 212 motor vehicle deaths, and 213 gun deaths in 2014.

The full graph at VPC shows that the increased proximity in the two numbers over the last 15 years is due more to a decrease in motor vehicle deaths than an increase in gun deaths.
