BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Attorneys for inmates at Idaho's largest private prison say Corrections Corporation of America is falsifying staff logs to hide chronic understaffing.  The allegation was raised Friday in an amended lawsuit filed in Boise's U.S. District Court. CCA spokesman Steve Owen says he can't discuss details of the lawsuit but staff and inmate safety is CCA's highest priority.

Idaho Department of Correction officials say they've found no evidence of falsified logs. CCA was required to increase staffing at the Idaho Correctional Center for a legal settlement in 2011. The new lawsuit filed last year contends CCA is violating its state contract by having employees put their names down on logs to show that they worked a full shift when they actually only spent a half-hour or so on the job.
