BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A southwest Idaho man has pleaded guilty to dumping about 450 tires on public land in southwest Idaho.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says that 49-year-old Terry Dorton Anderson of Caldwell on Wednesday pleaded guilty to two counts of injury to government property. Authorities say he dumped junk tires in two locations on public lands in Owyhee County on land administered by the Bureau of Land Management.

The Idaho Statesman reports that Anderson faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. He has agreed to pay restitution of $14,500 for cleanup costs of the tires dumped in one location. He's also agreed to pay at least $7,157 for the tires dumped at another location if he doesn't remove them by early summer 2015.
