IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Law enforcement officials say they have arrested an Idaho man who was recently freed from prison after experts said he was coerced into a false murder confession. According to the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office, 41-year-old Christopher Tapp has been booked into jail on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge. Authorities say Tapp and his wife were involved in altercation Monday that turned physical, where Tapp allegedly blocked his wife from using a phone to call the police. Tapp spent 20 years in prison for 1996 killing of 18-year-old Angie Dodge. A judge vacated Tapp's rape conviction in March and resentenced Tapp's murder conviction to time served. Tapp was a 20-year-old high school dropout at the time, and was interrogated for hours and subjected to multiple lie detector tests by police. He eventually confessed, but DNA evidence taken from the scene didn't match Tapp or any of the other suspects in the case.
