LYNN, Utah (KTVB) -- Authorities say a man was killed after the dump truck he was driving crashed on a rural road near the Utah-Idaho border.

The Standard Examiner reports that police say 37-year-old Jason Hale of Oakley, Idaho, was killed in the Friday night crash.

Box Elder County Chief Deputy Dale F. Ward says Hale was driving a dump truck fully loaded with quarry rock. Investigators say it was apparently running too fast downhill from Oakley to Lynn when the brakes failed.

Box Elder County Sheriff's Office says Hale's brother was following in another vehicle and saw the accident. The driver was dead when he arrived at an Oakley hospital.

Ward says Box Elder authorities and Cassia County, Idaho, sheriff's officers are working with Utah Highway Patrol to further investigate the accident.
