Gooding, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A man charged with vehicular manslaughter now knows his fate. Fifth District Judge John Butler sentenced 26 year old Shane Jeffrey Haile in a Gooding courtroom today.  Butler says, "The court will place you on probation for a period of three years.

The probation will be subject to the court's general conditions as set forth in Exhibit One."  That after Haile drove an all terrain vehicle into a Hagerman canal in August a year ago. His passenger, 27 year old Blanton McGee of Hailey, died on the way to a Boise hospital.

Alcohol was a factor in the incident.  Haile will serve 30 days county jail time and will perform 600 hours of community service during the next three years.  October 8, 2013.
