Idaho Man Sentenced for Killing 11 Week Old

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 53-year-old Boise man has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of his infant daughter in 2010. The Idaho Statesman reports a jury convicted Jeffery Alan Baker on Monday evening, after a two-week trial.

Baker was charged after 11-week-old Gracelynn Baker died of an abusive head injury in May 2010. An autopsy found the baby's death was due to head trauma consistent with shaken baby syndrome. Baker faces 10 years to life when he is sentenced in July. Baker is currently serving a prison sentence for a previous forgery conviction.
