CHUBBUCK, Idaho (AP) — Police in eastern Idaho have identified a man who was shot and killed by officers after apparently taking someone hostage in a Chubbuck Petco store. The Idaho State Journal  reports that 30-year-old Bradley Allen Wilson died after he was shot in the neck by an officer Thursday night.

Police say the hostage was unharmed. Chubbuck Police Chief Randy Severe says police were checking on the Wilson's welfare Thursday evening when he brandished a gun and sped away. Police got a call a short time later reporting that someone had taken a man hostage at the Chubbuck Petco store.

Severe says when Wilson from the store with the hostage, an officer with the Bannock County Sheriff's office determined the hostage was in imminent danger and fatally shot Wilson.
