MALAD CITY, Idaho (AP) — An eastern Idaho postmaster who authorities say made a false report of an armed robbery at the Malad Post Office has been charged with felony grand theft.

KIFI-TV reports that 28-year-old Bradley Hunter is being held at the Bannock County Jail on $100,000 bail.

Authorities investigated the initial robbery report on Wednesday and say they found evidence to charge Hunter, and took him into custody Thursday. Investigators say stolen cash has been recovered, and that on Saturday they found mail at Hunter's home he had taken from the post office.
